This case concerned the validity of a change in eligibility criteria for Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery (BHMS) admission in Maharashtra. In mid-2018, after NEET-UG results were declared, the Ministry of AYUSH introduced a minimum 50th percentile requirement for general category candidates, replacing the original criteria published in February 2018. The college association challenged this change. The Supreme Court allowed the appeal, directing that admissions for 2018-19 proceed under the original eligibility criteria from the February 2018 information brochure. The Court noted that similar relief had been granted in other states and found the mid-process change unjustified.
