The Supreme Court addressed challenges to NEET requirements for admissions to AYUSH undergraduate and postgraduate courses. Students had been admitted by several High Courts under interim orders without meeting NEET qualifications. While the Court acknowledged that NEET compliance is ordinarily mandatory under statutory regulations, it permitted all students admitted prior to the final admission deadline to continue their studies. This was a one-time exceptional measure due to the large scale of interim admissions. The Court left undecided a procedural challenge to homeopathy course regulation amendments, giving petitioners liberty to approach the High Court. All appeals and petitions were disposed with these directions.
